Franklinford Streamside Reserve

Franklinford Streamside Reserve is a free camping and picnic site where the Larni Barramal Yaluk (previously named Jim Crow Creek) does a sharp turn.

It is located at the end of Clarkes Road (1.4km off Hepburn-Newstead Road).

In summer there are swimming and paddling possibilities but the water levels are fairly low and there are reeds along a lot of the bank. A little distance back along Clarkes Road there is an area with rock pools when the water level is low.

There is an old dilapidated bridge but access is prohibited (and to a driveway beside the bridge).

There are no toilets, picnic tables or bins at the reserve. Campfires are permitted if you use the designated fire pits or bring your own.

Historically, this is near the site of Governor Franklin's 1843 crossing over the creek during his visit to the area.

Access for Dogs:

The reserve is a dog friendly site.
