Falls Creek - Rocky Valley Lake

Rocky Valley Lake, just a short distance from the heart of the Falls Creek village, is the highest significant body of water in Australia at at 1600m.
The lake provides the location for a range of aquatic activities.
Fishing
Rods are available for hire at the Visitor Information Centre and bait can also be purchased. Pretty Valley Lake and the aqueducts also offer great trout fishing.
Boating
Launching ramps on either side of the dam wall allow for easy launching and most types of boats up to 10HP capacity are allowed. Take a leisurely spin or find that perfect spot to drop a line in the deep
Swimming
Bring your bathers and take the plunge. The water is cool (some would say cold) and refreshing (some would say freezing) on a hot day and a shallow descent makes for excellent and safe paddling for children
Kayaking & Sailing
Bring your own craft to sail on the lake.
Picnic
The main shore area features a grassy bank that is perfect for relaxing by the water, plus a number of picnic tables and toilet block.
To get to Rocky Valley Lake, from the Village, drive along the Bogong High Plains Road past Windy Corner. Take the second right that you pass to access the main shoreline area with picnic tables, pier and boat ramp) or continue over the dam wall to access the other boat ramp area directly after the wall.
Access for Dogs:
Dogs are not permitted.
