East Belmont Saints Baseball Club (Grovedale)
East Belmont Saints Baseball Club is a well-established, family-friendly baseball club based at Pioneer Park, within Geelong Baseball Centre in Grovedale. The club welcomes players of different ages and abilities, from young children learning the game through to experienced senior players.
Founded in 1963 as St Bernards Baseball Club, it became East Belmont Saints in 1976. The Saints have a proud history in the Geelong Baseball Association, with numerous premierships and club championships.
The club offers T-ball, junior baseball, senior baseball and women's baseball, providing opportunities for both male and female players to enjoy the sport.
The Saints have been based at Pioneer Park since 1993 and have extensive playing and training facilities.
Baseball Programs
- T-ball: An introductory program for younger children
- Junior baseball: Age-based competitions, including Under 12, Under 14 and Under 17 teams
- Senior baseball: Teams competing across several divisions in the Geelong Baseball Association
- Women's baseball: Dedicated women's competition opportunities
- Beginners: New players are welcome, with opportunities to develop their baseball skills
Baseball Season and Competitions
The Saints compete in the Geelong Baseball Association winter competition, which generally runs from April to September.
The club fields teams in junior, senior and women's competitions, with multiple senior grades catering for different playing abilities.
Baseball Diamonds and Facilities
East Belmont Saints use two baseball diamonds at Pioneer Park, within the Geelong Baseball Centre complex.
- Diamond GBC4: Grass playing field with a full dirt infield and weather-protected dugouts
- Diamond GBC3: Fully synthetic baseball diamond
- Clubrooms and spectator facilities
- Indoor hitting facility with batting tunnel
- Covered four-lane pitching and catching practice area
- Training facilities for junior and senior players
The grounds have hosted major baseball events, including state and national championships and international team training camps.
