Dean Reservoir
Dean Reservoir is a deep lake surrounded by farmland.
Boating and wading are prohibited. Water is sometimes turbid from soil disturbance associated with farming in the red volcanic soils of the catchment.
Fishing
Dean Reservoir contains brown trout and rainbow trout to 2 kg, redfin and tench to 600 g. It is fairly popular with Ballarat anglers. Stocked regularly with brown trout and rainbow trout.
This is a domestic water supply managed by Central Highlands Water Authority. A written permit from the water authority is required for fishing access.
