Daylesford Spa Country Railway

Daylesford Spa Country Railway

Step aboard a beautifully restored heritage train and experience one of Victoria's most scenic railway journeys. The Daylesford Spa Country Railway travels through rolling farmland, Wombat State Forest and historic goldfields country between Daylesford and Bullarto, home to Victoria's highest operating railway station. Whether you're a railway enthusiast, a family looking for a fun day out or simply seeking a unique way to explore Spa Country, this volunteer-run heritage railway offers a memorable journey through Central Victoria's past.

The railway line originally opened in 1880, connecting Daylesford with the wider Victorian rail network. Passenger services ceased in 1978, but dedicated volunteers gradually restored sections of the line. Tourist services resumed in stages from the 1980s, eventually reaching Musk and later Bullarto, preserving an important part of Victoria's railway heritage.
