Cobden and District Historical Society

The Cobden and District Historical Society collects, preserves and displays items relating to the history of Cobden and the surrounding district. Established in 1985, the society is based in the historic Chocolyn Hall beside Cobden Pioneer Park.

The collection includes:
  • Items from local schools
  • Displays about timber cutting and milling
  • Material relating to the dairy, beef and sheep industries
  • War memorabilia
  • Photographs and information about local buildings and businesses
  • Records relating to local clubs and families
The society can assist with family history enquiries and research concerning places within the former Shire of Heytesbury. Group and school visits can be arranged by appointment.

The venue is wheelchair and walker accessible, with an accessible toilet.
