Cliffhanger Climbing Gym (Altona North)

Cliffhanger is Melbourne's OG climbing gym, open since 1993 and rebuilt in 2022, and home to the tallest indoor climbing wall in Australia at 19 metres.

It's a rope climbing gym with 30 top rope walls, 24 lead lines and 100+ routes reset every week, plus a training area with a Moon Board, spray wall and circuit wall.

First timers are welcome with no booking needed: our staff will show you the ropes, and kids can climb as soon as they fit in a harness.

There's an on-site cafe with some of the best coffee in the West and plenty of free parking. Find us inside the Westgate Sports Centre, about 18 minutes from the CBD.
