Review:

Even though the farm is open from around 10am, it is definitely best to be there mid afternoon to coincide with all the included activities such as a wagon ride, cow milking, sheep shearing, whip cracking and sheep dog trialling. The shearing show was repeated during the afternoon. There was plenty of opportunity to try your hand at whip cracking and if you are a bit shy wait until all the crowds have dispersed before you create some super sonic whip movement.

The surroundings are lovely with beautiful views across the paddocks to the water. As well as the activities there are plenty of places to explore including farm sheds with old machinery, Amess House which has many rooms which are beautifully furnished with period items. There is a wallaby enclosure at the western end of the island and keep an eye open for the peacock.

Copperhead snakes can be found on Phillip Island and care should be taken in summer.

There are a number of walks which are possible and picnic tables are provided as well as a cafe.
