Chiltern - White Box Walking Track

The White Box Walking Track is an 8.5 km circuit through the Box-Ironbark forest of Chiltern-Mt Pilot National Park. Named after the dominant tree species along the route, the walk introduces visitors to the area’s natural environment and gold-mining history.

The forest supports many native birds, including Turquoise Parrots and the critically endangered Regent Honeyeater. Spring and early summer bring displays of orchids, lilies, grevilleas and colourful pea flowers.

Access for Dogs:

Dogs are not permitted in Chiltern-Mt Pilot National Park, except for assistance animals.

How to Get There:

The walk starts at Honeyeater Picnic Area, accessed from Cyanide Road in Chiltern-Mt Pilot National Park, Chiltern. The final section of the access road is unsealed.
