Chiltern - Tuan Track Walk

The Tuan Track Walk explores the Box-Ironbark forest north of Chiltern, passing through several habitats before reaching historic Bartley’s Block. The walk is named after the tuan, or Brush-tailed Phascogale, a small carnivorous marsupial found in the region.

Bartley’s Block is an internationally recognised birdwatching location. The property was owned by the Bartley family from the gold rush period until 1989 and once contained their home and a brewery. The circuit returns along Bartley Track.

Facilities:

Facilities are limited, so carry drinking water and everything required for the walk.

Access for Dogs:

Dogs are not permitted in Chiltern-Mt Pilot National Park, except for assistance animals.

Opening Hours:

The park is generally open at all times. Avoid walking during extreme heat and check current park conditions, fire restrictions and closures before visiting.

How to get There:

The walk starts near the junction of Depot Road and Chiltern-Rutherglen Road, Chiltern. The Tuan camping area is approximately 350 metres along Depot Road.
