Caveat - Jacks Falls, Caveat Cascades and the Granite Canyon

Caveat - Jacks Falls, Caveat Cascades and the Granite Canyon

The waterfall which is most impressive after rain is located in a natural bush setting and has an overall drop of around five metres. Water flows over massive granite boulders and a small cascades is located downstream. A granite canyon is found below the falls.

The walk from the roadside car park area to the falls is 500 metres and of hard grade. There is no established walking path and you must make your way to the bottom of the falls yourself.

400 metres downstream is Caveat Cascades and the start of the Granite Canyon which is a 500 metre length canyon bounded on both sides by huge granite boulders and beautiful rocky ledges.

Directions: Travel to the intersection of the Goulburn Valley Highway and the Molesworth-Dropmore Road at Molesworth. Travel up the Molesworth-Dropmore Road for 7.2 km to a small parking area on the left at a sweeping right bend. Walk down the small track to the creek and the top of the waterfall. Make your way downstream 200 metres on the eastern bank of the valley, drop down to the creek, then make your way back upstream to the falls.

Note: Once you have progressed down the cascades down the Cascades, the easiest way back up is by moving upwards to the road on the east.
