Camperdown Heritage Signs Trail

Camperdown’s Heritage Signs Trail is a must-see for those interested in history and architecture. The trail features a variety of historic buildings that have been beautifully preserved and restored. As you walk along the trail, you can read informative boards that provide interesting insights into the town’s history and the people who helped shape it. It’s a great way to learn about the area’s rich cultural heritage while enjoying a leisurely stroll.

The town was established in the 1850s and many of its most impressive buildings still line Manifold Street. Along the walk you'll discover landmarks including the iconic Camperdown Clock Tower, the historic courthouse, post office, Theatre Royal and numerous heritage shopfronts.

The trail features 34 information panels that provide details on various topics such as buildings, statues, special sites, local industry, and local stories. The information covers a range of historical events from Aboriginal history to European settlement.

A recent addition to the walk is Echoes of History, an audio tour that allows visitors to hear stories about several of Camperdown's most significant landmarks by scanning QR codes placed around town. Stops include the Clock Tower, Theatre Royal, Soldiers Memorial, Courthouse, Finlay Avenue and the former Post and Telegraph Office, bringing Camperdown's rich history to life.
