Camperdown Community Garden Hub

The Camperdown Community Garden Hub is an open community space at the rear of Apex Park where residents and visitors can grow, share, learn and connect.

Formerly known as the Camperdown Community Garden, the hub has moved away from individually managed plots towards shared garden displays and projects that benefit the wider community.

Permanent garden displays include:
  • Local Indigenous Plant Garden featuring plants propagated in collaboration with Friends of Mount Leura
  • Sensory Garden designed to engage the senses
  • Succulent Garden created using cuttings donated by community members
  • Sharing Tree with seating made by the Camperdown Men’s Shed
Community projects include:
  • Communal herb garden where visitors can harvest herbs
  • Four wicking beds growing produce for community meals and the Swap and Share Stall
  • Community produce gardens
  • Garden therapy programs
  • Gardening workshops and community activities
  • Camperdown and District Swap and Share Stall

The Swap and Share Stall operates on the principle of “take what you need and leave what you can”. Items may include fruit, vegetables, flowers, cuttings, seeds, seedlings, eggs, plant pots and gardening materials. Label donated goods and only leave items that are fresh or reusable.

An accessible gravel path and raised garden beds help make parts of the garden available to people with different levels of mobility. Children must have adult supervision.

Contact Camperdown & District Community House to volunteer, participate in a program or learn more about the garden.

Opening Hours:

The garden is an open public space. The Swap and Share Stall has 24-hour access through the Apex Park entrance on Manifold Street. Daylight visits are recommended for exploring the garden.
