Callignee Memorial Wall


Callignee Memorial Wall is a memorial to those who lost their lives on Black Saturday whihc occurred on Saturday 7th February 2009. The fires killed 173 people, including 11 from the Callignee and Traralgon South areas.

There is a memorial Arch designed and built by Jo Caminiti utilising salvaged metal items left after the Black Saturday fire.

A path leading down to a time capsule (buried in 7/2/22 and to be opened in 7/2/44) and then leading down to the Callignee Memorial Wall is made up of clay tiles designed by hundreds of people, including schoolchildren.
