Bright State Gold Battery

The Bright State Battery is a historic gold ore crushing machine and museum. It was built by the Department of Mines in 1957 to assist local gold prospectors and then donated to the Alpine Shire in 1995.

The Bright State Gold Battery is one of only six surviving state gold batteries in Victoria. The others are located at Creswick, Maldon, Wedderburn, Mount Egerton and Rutherglen.

Opening Hours:


The Battery is open on the last Saturday of the month from 2 - 4 pm.

Cost:


Entry fee of $2 adults (children no cost).

The Battery is located along Morses Creek Road/Battery Road, near Doughertys Bridge.
