Bright Art Gallery and Cultural Centre

Bright Art Gallery and Cultural Centre is a community-owned gallery showcasing art by local and regional artists as well as visiting artists.

Established in 1962, the gallery is largely self-funded and run by volunteers. It has a strong membership of artists known as the Alpine Artists and presents a changing program of exhibitions throughout the year.

There are four main exhibition periods each year - autumn, winter, spring and summer. Exhibitions can include paintings, watercolours, photography, sculpture, ceramics, glass and other three-dimensional works.

The annual Autumn Art Exhibition has been held since 1961, while the Summer ART Awards showcase work by Alpine Artists and youth members. The gallery also hosts solo and group exhibitions, workshops, musical performances and cultural activities.

A permanent collection includes works acquired by the gallery over many years, including the Buckland Screens. Artwork is also available for sale during exhibitions.
