Bells Beach - Southside Lookout

Southside Lookout is a scenic clifftop lookout near Bells Beach with expansive views across Southside Beach, the rugged Surf Coast and Bass Strait.

A short walking path from the Southside car park leads out onto the headland and to the lookout platform. The elevated position provides an excellent place to watch the ocean, surfers and, when conditions are suitable, paragliders using the coastal cliffs.

Southside is also on the Surf Coast Walk, with walking tracks linking the area towards Bells Beach in one direction and Point Addis and the Ironbark Basin in the other.

Below the lookout is Southside Beach, a one kilometre-long surf beach lying between Bells Headland and Jarosite Headland. Southside Beach is officially designated as an optional dress beach.

Southside is also used as a paraglider launch area.
