Beechworth - Bates Dam Historic Walk

This short walk through mixed species eucalypt forest leads to a lookout over an old mining area, with a steam boiler associated with eucalypt oil extraction of later years to be seen. You return along the same track.
This short historic walk of about 100 metres is suitable for young families, although parents need to be mindful of the steep escarpment beyond the barriers. The area is recovering from being burnt in the Beechworth-Library Road bushfire of 2009.
A flat, formed track which is sign posted and has no steps. No experience required
