Bartlett Track – Black Hole Track Loop (Olinda)

The Bartlett Track / Blackhole Track Loop is a peaceful forest circuit through the northern section of the Dandenong Ranges National Park. Combining wide management tracks with towering Mountain Ash forest, fern gullies and abundant birdlife, it offers a quieter alternative to some of the more popular walks around Olinda.
The walk begins from the small parking area on Falls Road near the junction with Mathias Track. Follow Bartlett Track as it descends through tall eucalypt forest before turning onto Rifle Range Track. This section is particularly good for spotting Superb Lyrebirds scratching through the leaf litter, along with rosellas, cockatoos and other native wildlife. Continue along Rifle Range Track before turning onto KC Track, which winds gently through the forest to Blackhole Track.
The final section climbs steadily up Blackhole Track to Mathias Track. This is the steepest part of the circuit, but the climb is relatively short. Turn right onto Mathias Track to return to Falls Road and the starting point.
