Aireys Inlet - Urquhart Bluff Lookout

Urquhart Bluff Lookout is a spectacular clifftop viewpoint overlooking one of the Surf Coast's most rugged and unspoilt stretches of coastline. Located within the Urquhart Bluff Picnic Area, the lookout provides sweeping views across Bass Strait, the rocky shoreline and the golden sands of Urquhart Bluff Beach. With easy access directly from the Great Ocean Road, it is an excellent place to stop and experience the wild beauty of the coast.

A short walk from the picnic area leads to the lookout, where visitors can enjoy uninterrupted ocean views and watch powerful waves breaking against the reefs below. The dramatic cliffs, coastal heath and native vegetation provide a striking backdrop, while the elevated position makes this an excellent location for photography throughout the day.

The lookout is a popular place for wildlife watching. Between May and October, migrating Humpback and Southern Right Whales are sometimes seen offshore, while pods of dolphins occasionally cruise along the coastline. Seabirds such as Pacific Gulls, cormorants and White-bellied Sea-Eagles are also regularly spotted soaring above the cliffs.
