Aireys Inlet - Land's End Lookout

Land's End Lookout is the highest point on the Aireys Inlet Cliff Walk and provides expansive views over the surrounding coastline, Bass Strait and the rock platforms below. In clear weather, Arthurs Seat on the Mornington Peninsula may be visible slightly north of east. Whales may also be seen offshore during winter.

The lookout is not beside Split Point Lighthouse. It is located northeast of Step Beach, between Smelly Beach and Sandy Gully, and is accessible only on foot along the Cliff Walk.

From Split Point Lighthouse, follow the Cliff Walk towards Step Beach. Continue northeast past Step Beach and the first lookout between Step Beach and Smelly Beach to reach Land's End Lookout. Allow approximately 15 minutes each way from the lighthouse precinct.

Note: There is a staircase down to Step Beach.

The well-formed but narrow clifftop track has gentle hills and no steps along the main route. The coastline is exposed to strong winds and unstable cliffs, so remain on the designated track and keep away from cliff edges.

There are no facilities at the lookout.

Parking:

Parking is available near 2 Federal Street, Aireys Inlet. From the parking area, follow the Cliff Walk northeast past Step Beach towards Smelly Beach and Land's End Lookout. There is no vehicle access directly to the lookout.
