Williamstown Sea Scouts (4th)

Williamstown Sea Scouts (4th)

4th Williamstown Sea Scouts has a Joey scout mob (age range: 5-7), Cub scout pack (age range: 8-10), Scout troop (age range: 11-14), Venturer unit (age range: 15-17) and Rover Crew (age range: 18-25).

4th Williamstown encourages our scouting youth to challenge themselves with fun activities that promote social, emotional, physical and intellectual growth.

Formed in the spring of 1926, the Williamstown Sea Scout's water activities were initially run from the old Explosives Shed (1904) to the South and by the late 1930's had grown into one of Victoria's largest and most active Sea Scout groups. It wasn't until 1941 that this new scout hall was built, led by the Group Leader Matt Nicholas, community donations and local volunteers.

The group currently consists of Joeys, Cubs, Scouts, Venturers and the Port Phillip Sea Rover Crew. The group scarf is black with red and green tapes, signifying port, starboard and the 'dangers of the sea'.

To this day 4th Williamstown Sea Scouts remains one of the largest (over 140 members) groups on the bay, with a focus on personal development, community service, adventure and fun.
