Vocal Vibes Chorus (Ringwood)

Vocal Vibes Chorus is a vibrant chorus based in Ringwood, we are lively singers who embrace fun and challenge. We sing four-part a cappella harmony, often in the barbershop style, and are members of Sweet Adelines International (a worldwide organisation of all-female choruses). Our diverse repertoire time-travels from twenties jazz to current day favourites, also singing enduring and current hits, Barbershop classics, Broadway numbers, traditional tunes and more. Sweet Adelines find it hard to keep still when we're excited, so we often add colour and movement to performance with a little choreography.

We perform independently and with other a cappella groups in a range of forums, such as our own concerts, community festivals, citizenship ceremonies, as well as private and charity events. At Christmas time, you may have seen us at the local Carols by Candelight, or bringing festive spirit to nearby shopping centres through December. We also compete at the national Australian women's barbershop championships, and our inspiring Musical Director, Henrietta Farr leads uplifting, productive rehearsals.

We are a welcoming group with members from teens right through to youthful seniors, embracing a diversity of backgrounds and various stages of life. We actively encourage new members with a support structure as they get to know us and our repertoire.

Lively weekly rehearsals include exercises in singing technique to enhance our sound, and new members often find their abilities transformed, whether already long-time singers or new to the wonderful world of harmony. We regularly benefit from visiting Sweet Adelines international coaches, national workshops, conventions and personal training opportunities that help us continually grow both as singers, and as a cohesive unit.

Membership of Vocal Vibes is fun, stimulating, challenging and rewarding, and singing makes everyone feel great!
