Creativity has been identified as a BIG DEAL for all our kids as they move into teenage land.
Yanai Morris engages each child's innate, natural curiosity and creativity, helping them build essential life skills such as patience, ability to regulate emotions, persistence and problem solving - all while they are learning to express themselves through playing a musical instrument.
The result? Kids develop confidence about expressing themselves, and confidence that they can accomplish things and overcome challenges. Oh, and how to play an instrument... of course.
Through online or in-person lessons, Yanai teaches ukulele, guitar, keyboard/piano and drum kit. We recommend all very young aspiring guitarists start with ukulele - it is very similar to a guitar but MUCH simpler and smaller.
Beginners (from age 4 up) start by exploring the different ways of creating music on their instrument. Yanai coaches his students in how to use their attention and emotions to improve their learning and personal expression.
As students start to develop more confidence and understanding with their instrument, they can begin to make different choices about their path forward.
Which Styles? Whichever the student is drawn to. Yanai's experience covers a hugely divers range of musical styles and genres. There is plenty of scope for advanced learning in whatever the student feels drawn to, as well as being supported in developing their OWN style.
What about the parents?
At Tuned in Kids, parents matter too. From the first point of contact and all the way through their child's learning journey, our chief People Person Dassana provides exceptional admin and advisory support for their parents.
Resources?
Kids and parents are also supported with practising through online resources including a dedicated portal offering customised advice, sheet music and audio and video content created to support current challenges and extend the learning. Yanai is adept at transcription and personalisation of a child's preferred music to support where they are.
