Somerville Swim School is a proudly independent, family owned and operated swim school. We specialise in small class sizes with a personal approach to learning in our private facility.

We aim to foster a life-long love of swimming and water activities. Our safe and nurturing learn-to-swim experience gives our students the skills and confidence to enjoy water activities safely. With an innovative curriculum and high quality teaching, we aim to provide the very best service for babies, children and adults. Our personal rapport with every student gives us the platform to deliver the best learn-to-swim experience possible.

Somerville Swim School is a boutique learn to swim facility with a maximum of only two classes at any one time. With a real community feel, we can discuss your child's progress every class, know every child's name and greet them with a high 5 and a smile!

We believe learn to swim schools should be small, intimate and private so that every child feels safe and at home as we join them on their swimming journey.

Learn to Swim Program

Our curriculum consists of two parts - parent/child levels, catering for children aged 3 months to 3 years; and teacher/child levels, for children aged 3 years and above. Our parent/child curriculum has embraced the recent development in infant learn to swim research and development. Our infant program focuses on building abilities in the water for babies as they grow physically, just as their ability on land increases. It uses best practices from programs across the world, and focuses on the core elements of Conditioning, Buoyancy, Breath Control and Mobility.

Our teacher/child curriculum provide progressive, skill based lessons. Encompassing gaining confidence in the water, movement through the water, formal stroke development and survival skills our program will give your child swimming skills for life.
