Safari Park Playground, Grandvista Boulevard, Werribee

Safari Park Playground, Grandvista Boulevard, Werribee

A playground with an African Safari Park theme - it's in a new estate on the edge of Werribee and it may feel like you're on a safari just to find the playground but once you're there the kids should be captivated by the playground.

The highlights are the animals which include a huge rhino metal climbing frame, baby rhino springer, crocodile metal climbing frame and a giraffe with a birds nest swing at the end of its long tongue.

The playground is colourfully decorated with vibrant African colours. The main structure has a big wave slide, tightly wound spiral slide, scrambling rope on the side of a mound, rope traverse (high above the African plains), wibbly wobbly walkway, shop front, suspended chain ladder, scrambling wall and binoculars to see the Big 5 (rhino, giraffe, crocodile, swings and slide).

The playground also has a set of African drums, spinning cone, thick rope bridge across the Zambezi River, standard swings, stepping stones and a ramshackle wooden log and rope climbing structure.

There is also a shelter with two big tables and another unshaded table. There is a grassy area with metal soccer goal and football / rugby posts.

The playground is not friendly to casual visitors since there is no water tap or toilets.
