Rye Yacht Club

Rye Yacht Club

Rye Yacht Club is a community focused Club that embraces family sailing.

The club is located in a holiday resort area of Port Phillip Bay that is ideal for off the beach sailing. It is a family orientated sailing club that has a modern beachfront Clubhouse, Youth and Adult Sailing programs, and offers a friendly mixed fleet racing, with interesting and varied courses. The club has an active, friendly social programme.

The sailing season at Rye Yacht Club commences early in October and finishes in mid to late April. Most Club racing is on Sundays. The Club sailing program includes a variety of courses and trophy series, with multi-division starts. Both VYC and Club handicapping are used. The Club also supports and encourages social sailing for people not wishing to compete in the racing program. For those new to sailing, club members are always willing to provide friendly assistance and advice on request. Rye Yacht Club welcomes women to be involved in all aspects of the Club. We also welcome non-sailing members who would like to avail themselves of the fantastic Club facilities on the Rye foreshore.

Learn to Sail - The club is a Yachting Australia Accredited training centre. You are most welcome to come along and discover the joy of sailing in a friendly and supportive environment.

OutThere Youth Program - OutThere Sailing is a new Australian Sailing program offering teenagers the opportunity to have fun, socialise and enjoy getting out on the water. They experience and develop their skills in a range of water sports including sailing, windsurfing and Stand-Up Paddling. The program suits 12-17 year olds who have little or no experience. It's a fantastic way to get out on the water, make new friends and learn exciting and valuable skills that will help now and in the future. In most cases you will be on the water from day one as part of a group, or with your friends with an instructor close at hand.
