Royal South Yarra Lawn Tennis Club (Toorak)
The Royal South Yarra Lawn Tennis Club was founded in 1884 and is one of Australia's most historic and pre-eminent private sporting and social clubs.
A Club steeped in the history of Australian tennis, Royal South Yarra Lawn Tennis Club boasts a range of world-class facilities, available to its members and their guests. With 10 superbly-maintained grass courts, 12 porous all-weather courts and 4 Har Tru courts (the porous and Har Tru courts are fitted with LED lighting for night-play), Royal South Yarra has for more than 135 years been a place for members to enjoy the many and varied delights of tennis - from the fierce competition of its annual Club Championships to a relaxed hit of social tennis.
Competition
The Club holds regular social tennis events for members and enters teams in various competitions, conducted on weekdays and weekends in summer, autumn, winter and spring.
Additionally, the Club conducts regular tennis events ranging from President's Day, Junior Open Day through to the flagship event, the Club Championships.
The Club Championships are held over two weekends in February each year. Forty-one events are conducted ranging from the open events through to the graded and junior events and are offered to men, women, boys and girls in singles, doubles and mixed. Finals matches take place on the last Sunday of the tournament with all members invited down to the Club to watch. During the competition, the Club puts on a barbecue for members and also holds a Vintage Members Lunch. In addition, Sunday lunch is served in the Como Room and more casual meals are available from the Courtyard Bistro.

Royal South Yarra offers all its members a committed group of trained professional coaches to meet your tennis needs, from private tuition and group lessons, to holiday programs and ladies clinics.
Our Club tennis professionals offer a variety of lessons ranging from private coaching, group coaching and specialised clinics on the Club courts for all age groups.
Our professional team cater to members and guests of all ages, fitness levels and tennis standards and also offer a comprehensive racquet service including re-stringing and re-gripping.
