Point Lonsdale to Ocean Grove Beach Walk
This 9km, 3 hour one-way walk which goes along the beach starts at Point Lonsdale Lighthouse and ends in Ocean Grove.
The start address is 1 Point Lonsdale Road, Point Lonsdale and a suitable end point is at the Dunes Cafe, Surf Beach Road in Ocean Grove which is located in the sand dunes overlooking the Ocean Grove surf beach. The cafe is light, open and breezy in summer, warm and cosy in winter. You deserve this after the walk from Point Lonsdale.
The walk continues along the sand to the west all the way to Ocean Grove. Sections of the sand can be covered by water at high tides and so you need to check the tide times during planning for the walk.
There are no water taps along the way, so make sure to take plenty of water (and sunscreen during the warmer months). The walk along the beach can be quite tiring and you may want to use two cars and park one car at the end point before setting off, especially if you have kids.
One of the highlights of the walk are interesting rock pools to explore near the light house.
