Nhill - Hermans Hill Nature Walk
Herman's Hill Nature Walk is located to the north-east of Nhill, a few kilometres west of Lake Hindmarsh (take the Rainbow-Nhill Road) on the edge of Wyperfeld National Park, between Jeparit and Rainbow.
Here you can take a walk through the mallee-scrub to a hill overlooking the surrounding district. You will find a bird-hide and an information bay. The track is sandy. There is information on plants, birds and other living things is provided in notices under well designed lift-up aluminium covers.
The track rises a total of 25 metres but there are a few ups and downs on the way. At the top there is a low timber platform permitting visitors to see over most of the surrounding vegetation.
Location - To get to Herman's Hill from Nhill drive along the Rainbow-Nhill Road which is a bitumen road to the long north-south section along the western side of Lake Hindmarsh. Turn onto the gravel road along the former dog fence (might be named Netting Fence Road) and drive 9 kilometres to the car park.
