Newhaven Beach (Phillip Island)

Newhaven Beach (Phillip Island)

The area also has several small sandy bays at the base of the rocky cliffs along Forrest Avenue, perfect for picnics and enjoying the beautiful views of Western Port Bay and San Remo.

This beach is also called Pines beach because it is in an area with a number of pine trees. There is a small sandy beach with rocky areas at each end. On the elevated area overlooking the beach is a table and seat. There is a historic old beach shed with a seat by the beach. I wouldn't call this our favourite beach by a long stretch.

Swimming is best during high tide, as mudflats appear during low tide, and there is also a strong tidal current running parallel to the beach.

Newhaven is also home to a yacht club, boat ramp and large jetty. Toilets are located at Graydens Reserve and Newhaven Jetty, there are gravel and sealed carparks and Newhaven shops offer a bakery and supermarket.
