Mentone Pony Club (Patterson Lakes)
Mentone Pony Club is a not for profit organisation that provides a local sporting facility for young people from 6 years to 25 years to learn horsemanship and riding at all levels.
We have been established for nearly 60 years and are based in Patterson Lakes where we now share the council owned grounds with Dingley Pony Club. We have a strong history in the local community previously having grounds near the Epsom Racecourse in Mentone.
The Club provides a fun safe environment with professional instruction for young people to enjoy the outdoors whilst learning the skills required to safely handle and care for horses, ride, and to be competent equestrian competitors. The certificate based learning program has been developed by the governing body, Pony Club Association Victoria, who has a strong value system and Code of Conduct. Our mission is to expose many to the benefits of horsemanship, promote inclusiveness and the ideals of sportsmanship thereby cultivating strength of character and self discipline in the members.
Club Rallies are held on the second Sunday of every month (excluding January) from 9am to approximately 3pm.
Throughout the year we host a major Horse Trials event plus a Dressage and Show Jumping Day in addition to numerous clinics.
