Rushall Reserve is a small park next to Merri Creek in North Fitzroy. The park is situated down hill from Rushall train station and can be accessed from the east end of Holden Street.
Dogs may be exercised off-leash in the park, however, dogs are not allowed in wetlands and other environmentally significant areas, which includes the banks of the Merri Creek. Snakes are resident in Rushall Reserve, so visitors, especially dog walkers need to always be aware of the potential danger of coming across a snake, particularly in the summer months.
The easiest access is from the eastern end of Holden Street. The path goes under the bridge which crosses the creek and there is a bin located under the bridge. To the south it opens up to a grassy area with a few trees on the western side and a concrete path along the eastern side next to a thickly vegetated area beside Merri Creek.
Just south of the bridge, beside the path, is a nice sculpture titled "Spiral" (1997) by Rena Veronoff. The sculpture is a tribute to the Wurrundjeri people and the beauty of the Merri Creek. The spiral is a symbol of the eddies and currents and contains images of the creeks environment.
There are a few seats to rest on but no water tap. The path reaches a dead end and is blocked by embankments.
