South Ring Road Easement Dog Off Leash Area (Werribee)

South Ring Road Easement Dog Off Leash Area (Werribee)

The dog off leash area is the easement along the South Ring Road. West of #152 South Ring Road is an off leash area which runs all the way west until South Ring Road turns northwards. This is a distance of about 800m and the grassy strip is about 40m wide.

This is an off leash area which is marred by lots of broken glass on the ground and rubbish which has been dumped. Couple this with the noise from the nearby Princes Freeway and you have a recipe for an area to stay clear off. For the determined souls who do venture here, there are tall walls protecting access from the freeway but a wire fence with lots of openings between the off leash area and the Federation shared use trail which runs parallel to the south.

There aren't any bins or a water tap. There are some isolated clumps of trees and a cautionary sign about the possibility of snakes.
