Laverton Creek Artwork (Laverton)

The artist Dean Bowen has created a public artwork consisting of three bronze sculptures that reflect sustainable travel, which creates a link between Bladin Street and Thomas Street.

All works are made of bronze. The first sculpture is 'Car'. Follow the path to the right for the second artwork which is 'Bus' located near the Bladin Street bus stop. Meander through the park towards Thomas Street, where you will discover the third sculpture in the series titled 'Walking Figure'.

Australian artist Dean Bowen is based in Melbourne. He has been exhibiting paintings,
bronze sculpture and prints for over 20 years and his works are represented in major public and private collections. He has held solo exhibitions in Australia, France, Japan, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.

Review:

There are three artworks near where Bladin Street crosses Laverton Creek. One is located just north of the creek, near the western entrance to McCormack Park, the second is located opposite the bus stop, just south of Laverton Creek. To reach the third, head eastwards along the path from the second sculpture.

The sculptures are fun and interesting and worth a view.
