Euroa Arboretum

Euroa Arboretum

There are a number of picnic tables and seats located through the Euroa Arboretum. These are visible from the public carpark just inside the main entry. A short distance from here, along the main track in, leads you to a more formal picnic area with a shelter and landscaped garden. Please note, there is no rubbish collection at the Euroa Arboretum, so please take all your rubbish with you.

Toilets are located near the picnic shelter. Approach them via the main drive in. These toilets flush with dam water and are on a septic tank system. Please be considerate of this.

Things to do at the Arboretum:

Canoeing and Fishing
The Euroa Arboretum dam is stocked with Rainbow Trout and Redfin, providing an opportunity for a quiet fish on a nice sunny day. It is also large enough to launch your canoe and go for a paddle around.

Walking and Cycling
The Euroa Arboretum has a loop walking track of approximately 2km long. It leaves and returns from the picnic facilities. It passes the large dam, a series of constructed wetlands and through woodland plantings and regeneration. It is suitable for bikes, walking your dog on a leash or jogging. There are also a number of other smaller, informal walking tracks to use.

Art Works
Local artists have rallied together to give their impression of the Euroa Arboretum using metal. These series of panels are on display adjacent to the picnic shelter and depict the Euroa Arboretum - from its history to its vision. They are well worth a visit.

Birding
Pack the binoculars and see how many species you can spot at the Arboretum.

Review:

The Arboretum is located south of Euroa along Euroa Main Road. It is past the Golf Club and just before the entrance to the Hume Freeway.

The kids didn't find this place that interesting and the 1 km loop walk was quite stony with not a lot of variety and quantity of trees on display. There was also quite a lot of noise from the Hume Freeway.

Some of the areas were Yellow Gum Avenue, Red Gum Grassy Woodland, Herb-Rich Foothill Forest, Heathy Dry Forest, Dropping Sheoak Grove, Wallaby Grass Field & Perennial Legumes Demo Site and Early Arboretum Plantings.

There is a dam, a number of picnic areas, boardwalk near the dam and a nice sculpture wall.

There is a plant nursery which was open on Monday and Thursday (9-5). Contact number is 0429 127 399.
