There are a range of free resources for visitors to Melbourne including:

Melbourne Visitor Centre at the Town Hall - A one-stop-shop for visitors providing information on Melbourne and Victoria: brochures and maps; what's on in the city; souvenirs; plus a travel booking service.

Open daily from 9am to 6pm (closed Christmas Day)

Melbourne Visitor Booth in the Bourke Street Mall - Friendly volunteers at the Melbourne Visitor Booth provide free maps and information on shopping, attractions and events in Melbourne.

Open daily from 9am to 5pm (closed Good Friday and Christmas Day)

City Ambassadors - Dressed in their distinctive red uniforms, City Ambassadors provide a mobile information service in the city with information on shopping, events and how to get around.

Monday to Saturday 10an to 4pm, Sunday noon to 3pm (excluding Good Friday and Christmas Day)

Melbourne Greeter Service - The free, two to four hour walking orientations of the city are conducted by trained volunteers. Orientations in English depart the Melbourne Visitor Centre at Federation Square daily at 9.30am. Orientations in other languages are available on request.

Melbourne Visitor Shuttle - The hop on and hop off shuttle is an easy way to see many of Melbourne's attractions. For only $10 for up to two days, the 90 minute round trip includes free wifi, on-board audio commentary and stops at 13 key attractions on route. Operates every 30 minutes, from 9.30arn to 4.30pm (excluding major event days).
