Banking Chamber of Commercial Bank of Australia Building (Central Melbourne)

This spectacular building at 333 Collins Street was built in 1891 using Baroque Revival style as a banking hall by the Commercial Bank of Australia (which is now Westpac). It is now a beautiful entrance foyer for a huge modern commercial building.

For those with an interest in architecture, this is a beautiful building to view. There are two scale models of the building, the smaller one shows just the heritage listed part of the building, while the larger model shows the huge exterior shell, which houses 6000 people, covering the inner heritage part of the building. The exterior shell is hard to notice from the street. The building has a beautiful dome and fittings.
