Nettleton Park Dog Off Leash Area (Glen Iris)

Nettleton Park Dog Off Leash Area (Glen Iris)

There is a carpark on the east side of Gardiner Parade, next to a dog on leash area Back Creek Reserve, which is part of the Ferndale Trail.

There is a playground with shaded table, cricket nets and basketball court in the north east corner and an asphalt shared use path runs along the east side of the park. This area has a rubbish bin and water tap.

The reserve is occupied almost totally by a large grassy oval with a drain running along the north side which joins Gardiners Creek, which has steep high banks, and runs to the south where there is a bridge with views along the (fairly grotty) creek. At this point the Ferndale Trail which runs on the edge of the park joins the Gardiners Creek Trail.

In the south west corner, a path leads down to a small sandy area beside the creek where dogs can have a swim. The west end of the park has a small area of bushland bordered by the creek. This area has a sign urging people to protect the indigenous wildflowers growing here. There were a lot of dogs here when we visited on the weekend.
