There are two full-size cable systems. On the Main Lake, the cable runs clockwise. On the Front Lake it runs anti-clockwise. Both lakes have a selection of obstacles. There is also a two-tower system which runs back and forth which is ideal for beginners.

Review:

The area is huge and has a lake with an inflatable water fun park, two lakes for wake boarding or water skiing with obstacles and a huge climbing tower.

Our whole family had a brilliant time at the Aqua Fun Park. It's like you are in your own version of the TV show 'Wipeout'. The phrase 'It's harder than it looks' has never been truer. Some of the obstacles, especially the rolling hills, have been greased up to make them super challenging.

It is generally necessary to book a session time online in advance since sessions are often booked out. There is a limit to how many people can be on the course at one time. Session start on the hour and last for 50 minutes.

It is advised to come 30 minutes before your scheduled session so that you have time to check in and hear the safety briefing which is held ten minutes before the session starts. The entire cable park covers a large area and the check-in area for the Aqua Fun Park is in the middle near the main car park. After signing the waiver and checking in, you walk down to the inflatables area.

There are some restrictions for safety. These are:
  • Minimum age is 5 years old
  • All kids aged 5 to 9 years old inclusive (under 10s) must be accompanied on the inflatables by a paying adult
  • One adult can supervise up to 6 kids
  • All participants must be able to swim
  • A life jacket must be worn at all times

The inflatable obstacle course is set in a pond / lake. If you do fall off and end up in the water, don't expect to land in pristine blue swimming pool water, it's more like slightly murky dam water. Enjoy the experience and keep your mouth closed would be the best idea.

There are tables along the side of the water with umbrellas for shade.

The climbing tower is scary but has a lot of fun and quirky elements such as riding a pink galah, riding a wooden barrel, using a rowing boat to cross a section, climbing across a rainbow and riding a go kart. There is also a fast descent down to a soft mat below on a pulley system plus a swinging seat as optional extras.

It is possible for a non climber to sign a disclaimer form and go up a series of steps (which have walls) to viewing platforms at the top for great views across the park.

The staff were very friendly and helpful and it is easy to see why this place has become so popular.

Take the turn-off from Riverend Road to the National Water Sports Centre to get to the park.
