Daylesford - Convent Gallery

Nestled on the crest of Wombat Hill Botanical Gardens, over-looking Daylesford, the Convent boasts expansive views of the countryside and township below. A feast for the senses, the gallery is more than a three level haven of fine art in an historic 19th century mansion.

Described as 'the most beautiful gallery in Australia', the Convent Gallery presents local, national and international artists working in a variety of media and styles.

Cafe - Why not have a leisurely rest or repast in the Mediterranean style 'Bad Habits Cafe'. In an atmosphere enhanced by the high atrium ceiling, peaceful palms filtering light, art-filled walls and pleasant aromas you can enjoy a light morning or afternoon tea, or a substantial breakfast or lunch.

Gardens - No visit to the Convent Gallery is complete without a meander through the award winning gardens surrounding the building. Eye-catching artwork, elegant bronze sculptures and awe-inspiring views contrast with the fragrant and colorful gardens that have blossomed in the rich volcanic soil.

The Chapel - The beautiful Convent chapel was built in 1904 and has remained relatively untouched, the ceiling and Baltic pine floors, the stained-glass door and windows are remnants of the old Convent. The original stained-glass windows feature dedications to local pastoralists Margaret, Mary and John Evans.
