Creswick Woollen Mills (Farm Tour)



Founded in 1947, Creswick Woollen Mills is the only coloured woollen spinning mill of its type in Australia. Creswick Woollen Mills is home to luxurious, natural fibre products designed in Australia to suit Australian conditions.

Located in Creswick, a small township approximately 120 kilometres from Melbourne, between Daylesford and Ballarat, Creswick Woollen Mills now hosts a fully interactive fibre experience.

Visit the Creswick Woollen Mills tourism experience "A Very Fine Yarn" showcasing the journey of fibre; all the way from its source on the alpaca, through the manufacturing process and how it ends up on the shop shelf. Creswick Wollen Farm's tour "A Very Fine Yarn" that runs everyday at 11am and 2pm sharp.

The exhibit gives a great insight into natural fibre, how luxurious fibres are processed and gives visitors a chance to see Australian manufacturing as it happens.

Meet their resident alpacas and purchase Australian products made right here at the Mill. Their retail store open seven days a week and the interpretive tours take place at 11am and 2pm every day.

Some of Creswick Woollen Mills luxurious products are manufactured at the mill include Alpaca throws, blankets and accessories woven into sophisticated modern designs. Other natural fibre products designed by Creswick for optimum comfort include merino, possum, cashmere, cotton and bamboo.
