Traralgon - Scenic Drive (Strzelecki Trail Route 94)

Strzelecki Scenic Drive (Route 94) takes you through the Latrobe Valley and into the Strzelecki Ranges, through villages, past farmland to magnificent forests.

With two distinct loops, the first takes you past Loy Yang Coal Mine and power stations through to Gormandale and Carrajung, then on to part of the Grand Ridge Road to the splendour of Tarra Bulga National Park, famous for its tall mountain ash trees, suspension bridge, Cyathea Falls and wildlife.

The second loop includes PowerWorks Energy Centre, and Churchill, gateway to Morwell National Park. The park has several walking tracks and is a perfect spot for a picnic. From there travel to the tranquil rural townships of Yinnar and Boolarra, then on to Mirboo North where you can enjoy a meal at the Mirboo North Brewery or a tasting from many of their award winning beers. Other highlights completing the loop, include the tiny town of Thorpdale and Narracan Falls.

Approximate travel time: 2 hours
