Historic printing works, established in 1859, featuring printing equipment from the 1870s-1920s which is housed in the original nineteenth century building.

The Federal Standard Printing Works features machines used in the production of the local newspaper, The Federal Standard, which was published here for 110 years, and which are maintained and operated by volunteers, all retired printers. A fascinating repository of information about the print media prior to the introduction of today's digital processes. Learn how movable type and the printing press changed the world, and began the Information Age.

Opening Hours:


Open on the second weekend of each month from 11am to 3pm. Open during Ironbark Weekend and on Easter Sunday. Group tours available by appointment
