Spavin Drive Lake (Sunbury)

Spavin Drive Lake (Sunbury)

This dam primarily serves as a home for water birds. It offers a diversity of habitats including muddy flats, three small islands, nesting boxes and overhanging vegetation offers feeding, roosting and nesting places for water birds such as Black Ducks, Wood Ducks, Coots, Dusky Moorhens, Grebes, Swallows, Masked Lapwings and White Faced Herons. You can fish from the dam and there are walking paths and a playground nearby. The dam was originally made to source water for the historic Rupertswood Mansion.

Review:

As well as the lake which has plenty of water birds and fishing opportunities, there is a huge grassy area to the east of the lake as well as a playground.
