Review:

The gallery is located in the Town Hall building and it is mostly paid parking in this area. Get ready for a difficult search and a walk if you want free parking.

The main room has quality changing exhibitions and the walls and little rooms located in the vicinity have smaller objects displayed. One of the small side rooms has a display of permanent objects in glass display cases.

The last time we visited there was an exhibition "Be Persuaded Jane Austen" which had a display from Dressing Australia - Museum of Costume which brings to life characters from the books of Jane Austen.

There was wall with some provoking quotations from famous people such as:

"Art is not what you see, but what you make others see" - Edgar Degas
"Creativity is contagious, pass it on" - Albert Einstein
"Art washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life" - Pablo Picasso
"To be an artist is to believe in life" - Henry Moore
"Pots, useful, everyday, ordinary pots, have for most of my life been daily pleasure-mines." - Gwyn Hanssen Pigott
"I've never liked housework. I get by doing little chores when I feel like them, in between paintings." - Margaret Olley
"I offer to others, my way of seeing and thinking about nature" - Ian Armstrong
"Art enables us to find ourselves and lose ourselves at the same time" - Thomas Merton
"To create one's own world takes courage." - Georgia O'Keeffe

There is a snack and drink dispensing machine, toilets, 3WBC 94.1 FM Whitehorse Boroondara Community Radio and Box Hill Historical Society on the same floor.
