Edithvale Beach

Edithvale Beach

Edithvale Beach is a 1.5 km long, straight section of sand located between Chelsea and Aspendale Beaches. The beach is patrolled by the Edithvale Life Saving Club.

The beach faces west-south-west and, like adjoining Bonbeach and Chelsea, has a 50 m wide, sandy beach fronted by usually three bars.

Swimming is safest on the shallow sections of the inner bar in the patrolled area. Avoid rip holes and the outer troughs.

The beach is parallel to the Nepean Highway and the Edithvale railway station is located 200 m east of the beach. The beach has limited parking available and you will need to seek a spot in the neighbouring streets.

Edithvale beach has a General Beach Hazard Rating of 3/10 (Least hazardous)

Review:

In front of the Edithvale Life Saving Club in The Esplanade Lane is Beeson Reserve which is a long grassy area with two unshaded tables, shaded table, unshaded seats and Edithvale War Memorial.

In this area are toilets, beach shower and a water tap.

There is a wide sandy beach which is patrolled in summer and backed by low sand dunes which are scattered with beach huts to the north and south. The beach stretches as far as the eye can see to Aspendale beach in the north and Chelsea beach in the south.

There is very limited parking but the beach is very close to the train station.
