Lehmanns Farm Park Playground, Broadleaf Drive, Epping

Lehmanns Farm Park Playground, Broadleaf Drive, Epping

A beautifully created playground with a dairy theme to honour the history of the location. A dairy shed was built at this location in the 1920's by the Lehmann family but the family was forced to leave the farm in 1932 when the Great Depression struck.

The top area of the playground has a maze of paths which lead to blocks of cheese piled into a climbing structure, milk agitator spinning cup with hand wheel, butter seat, three milk urns which make noises/are musical instruments, a bell and a dog beside his master's muddy boots. On this side of a little hill is a barrel which pours out into a milk slide and a conveyor belt type slide.

At the bottom is a garden area with three large domes to scramble over, a veggie patch with huge watermelons and pumpkins plus large cow pat for fertiliser, windmill, large rope climbing frame pyramid and an area with gravel, a digger and items buried below the surface such as horseshoes and other historical artefacts. There are three swings including one with a safety chain.

There are two shelters with tables, water tap, unshaded tables and seats, small tennis wall, BBQs and limited grassy area.

In general the playground is suited to younger kids.
