This Australian themed, hand crafted 18 hole mini golf course will not only entertain, it will test the skill of young and old alike. Whether your challenging Ned Kelly, crossing The Sydney Harbor Bridge or swimming with the sharks it is definitely “Fun for all ages”...
The café - Daylesford Mini Golf not only offers a day of fun on the course it also tantalizes the taste buds in its log cabin styled café. Relax and take in the panoramic view whilst enjoying your tea or coffee. Or put your feet up and unwind after a fun filled Australian adventure, enjoying a traditional wood oven pizza from our gourmet menu.
The course is very interesting with an Australian theme with holes such as The Outback, Goldfields, Great Barrier Reef, Grand Prix, Crickey Crocodile, Aussie Bridge, Slither, Aussie Rules, The Snowy Mountains, Thunder down under, The Melbourne Cup, Sydney Opera House, Shark Attack and Boomerang.
The course is set on steep ground and is a lot trickier than it seems. Quite a few times some-one took more than 10 strokes for a hole. In fact, the kids cracked a few wobblies on the most difficult holes. One of us, scored an exasperating 25 strokes for one hole. For the sake of this person's reputation, I can't name them, except to say that it wasn't Dad :-)
We can't blame the equipment for our score. Different coloured balls are provided (which makes it impossible to "mistakenly" hit some-one else's ball which is in a better position than yours) and clubs are provided in two sizes.
The course is unrelenting and there are almost no easy options.
The greens are in generally good condition but a few of the spectacular features are unfortunately no longer functional such as the water channel at the top of the course and the huge Sydney Harbour is now filled with leaves rather than water.
The scorecards have a hard plastic feel and it is hard to write the scores down and be able to read them. On a course like this, that could be considered a blessing in disguise.
The course suffered from one of our pet hates - music blaring out over the course. Keep this for the roller disco and not for the golf course.
Overall a great course if you like interesting holes and a challenge.
