Hey Bambini visits Phillip Island to Play and Eat

Our guest writer, Jolie from Hey Bambini and her family visted Phillip Island on holiday and checked out the best playgrounds the island has to offer.

It’s fun to get away from the big smoke and pack the family into the car for a good old summer holiday by the seaside. We spend our summers making sand castles, riding the boogie board and working on the tan down at Phillip Island every year. But not every day at Phillip Island can be perfect beach weather, after all there are Bass Straight winds to contend with. While the sun may be still shining the water can be a little frosty, so we usually grab the kids and head for the nearest playground. Here are our top four favourite Playgrounds we visit when we are holidaying in Phillip Island.

San Remo :: Richard Grayden Park - toilets, picnic area and playground is located on the San Remo foreshore near the bridge to Phillip Island.

San Remo

Cowes :: Erehwon Point - has toilets, gas BBQs, picnic area and playground which are located by the beach at the end of The Esplanade, corner Steele Street.

Cowes

Rhyll :: Has BBQs, public toilets, children’s playground and Tennis Court hire from General Store opposite which is located behind the Rhyll Mechanics Hall, Lock Road in Rhyll.

San Rhyll

Newhaven :: Provide toilets, coin operated covered BBQs, picnic tables and a children’s playground located just over the Phillip Island Side of the bridge (on the right) - corner Forrest Avenue.

San Newhaven

And to locate the best family friendly cafés on Phillip Island pop on over to Hey Bambini, we have reviewed Silver Leaves Store which is located near Cowes and Spice Island Café which is located on Churchill Island. Enjoy!
